Social Impact Director, Real Estate

The Social Impact Director will lead Nuveen Real Estate's Impact Measurement and Management Framework and will take oversight of the delivery of impact reporting. The individual will act as a key adviser to the impact investment teams and will ensure that all impact investment strategies are credible and robust. This role will require an excellent knowledge of Impact and ESG frameworks and will also be required to manage the development of toolkits and guidance documents for investment teams to enable the delivery of the impact framework. Public speaking, investor engagement and building relationships with partners will be a core part of the role so confidence in presenting is essential.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Take ownership of the Impact Measurement and Management framework for Nuveen Real Estate’s Impact strategies, further developing our approach to ensure leadership and best practice and putting in place the necessary processes and procedures for its implementation.

  • Lead our approach to measuring social impact for Real Estate, developing the appropriate frameworks and toolkits to deliver this.

  • Take a leadership role on the delivery of our annual Real Estate Impact Report and on specific impact reports for investors.

  • Represent Nuveen with industry bodies and working groups focused on social impact and actively contribute to the development of industry standards.

  • Engage with investors to present our social impact strategy and approach.

  • Present to internal committee and fund boards to provide transparency into our impact strategy.

  • Collaborate with the Impact Investment portfolio and asset management teams, sustainability, research, prop-tech and other colleagues to ensure an integrated approach to Impact.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

Required Qualification:

  • 3+ years experience within an ESG or Social impact role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience with a focus on social impact.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.Â

  • Strong presentation skills. Â

  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.Â

Potential Salary: $140,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
