KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Enterprise Compliance Officer

Establishes effective business unit compliance programs to prevent or identify illegal, unethical, or improper business practices.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Developing, initiating and revising policies and procedures for the general operation of the business unit's compliance program and its related activities.

  • Monitoring compliance and ethics initiatives of the business unit and providing guidance for the management team on matters relating to compliance.

  • Identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; developing corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

  • Responding to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.

  • 5 Years Required; 7 Years Preferred

  • University (Degree), Preferred

REQUIRED:

5 years or more of asset management

5 years or more of compliance testing, regulatory and/or audit experience

PREFERRED:

7 years or more of Archer and TeamMate experience

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

Role is responsible for executing testing according to the TIAA Enterprise Compliance Testing Program procedures and standards, with a specific focus on the Asset Management businesses within Nuveen. Testing include scoping subject area; identifying risks and associated controls; developing test scripts; analyzing/interpreting findings; documenting issues and observations; drafting reports; tracking remediation of identified issues; and updating the compliance testing tool (TeamMate). Test work will be subject to a manager and/or Quality Assurance review. Testers should be able to work independently and with a high level of professionalism.

Role reports to TIAA Asset Management Testing Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Execute testing in accordance with the Compliance Testing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

Independently lead and execute reviews from planning stage through tracking business remediation of issues identified, specifically:

Scope subject area and gain understanding of policy/procedures, systems, business practices, regulatory requirements, and industry guidance

Identify key controls and map processes into intelligible workflows for identification of gaps

Prepare test scripts and execute testing plan to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls through assessment of documentation and/or sampling

Analyze and interpret findings

Document work executed, observations and remedial actions in written assessment while maintaining well-organized records which meet internal standards and regulatory requirements

Present testing results to Senior Stakeholders and issue final report

Track the progress and resolution of open issues identified during the course of testing

Validate issues submitted for closure

Complete all testing timely and in accordance with established standards

Update TeamMate and/or Archer systems, as needed

Ability to work with and oversee offshore third-party testing resources who may assist with reviews

  • Ability to manage multiple reviews concurrently

Minimum Pay: $92,300.00
