P&BD Business Strategy & Operations

The P&BD of Business Strategy & Operations role is accountable for Strategy and Planning driven by analytics and insights, Execution Discipline, Business Management & Routines, Portfolio Management & Metrics, Internal Communications and Executive Reporting, Audit, Risk & Controls, Expense Management, Resource Planning, Culture & Engagement, and end-to-end support for the P&BD organization. This role works with top-level executives to devise strategies and plans to meet objectives and goals, drives operational efficiency and defines metrics and reports on the performance of the various departments. The role drives integration of strategies across P&BD and represent P&BD on critical enterprise initiatives. It will be responsible for enhancing internal organizational processes and ensuring measurable, cost effective solutions that increase productivity, improve client and associate experience, while delivering business results.

A critical component of this role is having a grasp of the external market, competitive landscape and articulating the team's vision, product strategy, initiatives, and progress within that context, leveraging data and analytics to tell the story in a concise yet compelling way. This role is responsible for partnering with the Finance, People and Communications Teams to ensure they are collectively building and developing the resources, capabilities and providing leaders with tools to drive a GM approach to our operating model, supporting a culture of connectivity and accountability.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Drives business strategy development by assessing risks, noting opportunities for expansion, setting overall goals and metrics that move the company forward.

  • Develops Board and C-Suite/Executive Committee presentations and memos, as well as, materials for internal/external audiences to articulate our vision, product strategy, initiatives, and progress, leveraging data, analytics and market/industry knowledge to tell the story in a compelling way.

  • Works across team to develop and support execution of integrated product strategies – ensuring teams are informed with the data and analytic insights needed.

  • Acts Leads Chief of Staff and business management operations, working closely with Enterprise and business area CAOs to drive integration and delivery of company objectives and routines.

  • Proactively plans and facilitates leadership and business management cadences.

  • Partners with Finance to provide oversight in driving flows/revenue, defining budgets and monitoring the cost and effectiveness of operational activities to prioritize spending, and managing workforce planning and resource allocation.

  • Liaises with senior executives across the enterprise to ensure integration of strategies and activities with other business areas and key partners, driving execution plans to ensure continued alignment to enterprise strategies and priorities.

  • Partners and liaises with Finance, HR, Risk and IT etc. to deliver on goals and objectives and Marketing and Enterprise Analytics teams to deliver advanced analytics and business insights to drive better decision making.

  • Provides business performance, analytics, and scorecards for P&BD organization.

  • Oversees the portfolio of technology investment, business requirements, and process re-engineering initiatives.

  • Manages risk & controls for P&BD, partnering closely with business and enterprise risk.

  • Collaborates with other key partners across TIAA businesses as well as corporate partners such as Technology, Digital and Client Experience, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, HR, Marketing, and Corporate Strategy to execute on enterprise programs.

Base Pay Range: $210,000/yr. - $350,000/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
