Nuveen Investments Senior Analyst, Investment Trade Settlements - Nuveen in New York, New York

The Senior Analyst, Investment Trade Settlements job assists in operational activities for the investment function, supporting the management of capital on behalf of pensions, endowments, corporate plan sponsors, and other institutional investors. Working under direct supervision, this job is responsible for performing operational processes pertinent to trade settlements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Executes and processes trade transactions, ensuring compliance with the organization's regulatory policies, procedures and standards.

  • Reviews that trade activity is confirmed and/or settled with counterparties.

  • Resolves routine trade settlement issues in a timely manner.

  • Performs maintenance of transaction records and documents and creates an archival system for easy retrieval.

  • Maintains additional compliance documentation to help ensure compliance with investment restrictions, laws, Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), and tax codes.

A Senior Analyst on the US Equity Trade Settlements team is responsible for the confirmation, communication, and settlement of Nuveen’s US Equity Income trades. This individual works closely with Traders, Brokers, and Custodians to ensure trades are recorded accurately, matched against the counterparty’s details, and recorded and settled in a timely manner by the custodian banks. Â

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Receipt of counterparty trade confirmations and matching of those confirmations against Nuveen’s trade details

  • Management of mismatched and missing confirmations

  • Communication of trade activity to custodians, fund administrators, and other interested parties

  • Management of failed trades

  • Other duties as assigned and required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of trade entry and trade processing systems

  • Solid understanding of the lifecycle of a trade from execution to settlement

  • Solid understanding of various Investment Management products (Pension funds, Mutual funds, Separate accts)

  • Knowledge in Excel including macros, vlookups, pivot tables and other advanced skills

  • Solid communication skills, written and verbal

  • Experience with the SWIFT messaging and format

  • Experience with industry trade matching utilities, like DTCC ALERT, CTM

  • Experience with Portfolio Accounting Systems

  • Experience with order management systems, like Bloomberg AIM and Charles River Investment Management Solution

  • Effective communication skills to facilitate deadlines.Â

  • Ability to address difficult issues and work under pressure in high stress environments

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with an ability to understand complex workflows

  • Good understanding of operational risks and controls

  • Bachelor’s degree

Schedule:Â 8am-5pm (3 days) and 10:30am-7:30pm (2 days) with every 3rd Fridays 10:30am-7:30pm. Overtime based on business needs.

Potential Salary: $33.75 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
