Sr Analyst, SMA Investment Operations

The Senior Analyst, Separately Managed Accounts Investment Operations job assists with operational activities for the investment function, specializing in separately managed institutional accounts. Working under limited supervision, this job performs routine, administrative/transactional operational processes pertinent to trade processing, settlements, securities transfer and record maintenance. This job also provides assistance and training to junior employees and faces non-routine problems on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supports trading and rebalancing of separately managed institutional and retail accounts, ensuring compliance with model portfolios from portfolio managers

  • Process block trades including the updating of rotation grids, compliance memos, and investment models. Create a trade to reflect the wishes of the investment manager and execute trades with the appropriate sponsor firms.

  • Accurately convey the instructions provided by the PM when executing orders or updating non-discretionary models.

  • Adjust discretionary models based on direction from Portfolio Manager, rebalance client accounts and execute trades to accommodate changes.

  • Correct exceptions by reaching out to the sponsor trading desk or back office of the sponsor firm to research and resolve any discrepancies from the previous day.

  • Run and review several exception reports to ensure the each individual account is in-line with the parameters of the associated investment model.

  • Run and Review drift reports to find outliers, research any discrepancy and act accordingly.• Process tax harvesting requests – review current account holdings to determine a scenario that best meets the client request to realize gains or losses.

Qualifications

  • No Experience Required; 2 Years Preferred

  • High School, Preferred

Required Skills:

  • Previous experience with an investment management system such as FiServ APL or Charles River and/or similar OMS systems

  • Experience updating trading systems on separately managed institutional and retail accounts, ensuring compliance with model portfolios from portfolio managers.

  • Experience with Process Improvement in regards to workflow and/or order management systems

  • Experience working in Separately Managed Accounts

Preferred Skills

  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Experience working with Bloomberg is a plus

  • Strong problem recognition and resolution skills

  • Strong analytical skills

Potential Salary: $32.69 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
