TIAA Sr. Director, Enterprise Planning Process Management in New York, New York

Accounting Management

This leader will provide vision, leadership and direction to multifaceted initiatives like business or system integration with planning, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Define key initiatives, benefits and supporting enterprise level programs to align with short term and long term corporate strategies to achieve their objectives

  • Overseeing and evaluating the activities of the accounting staff, and providing for their professional development; analyzing and solving accounting problems.

  • Preparing or leading preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings, based on past, present and expected operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in FP&A demonstrating senior level finance leader engagement

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A demonstrating senior level finance leader engagement

  • University degree/or equivalent combination of education and experience in business or finance (or related field)

  • Experience with use of enterprise financial software system

  • Experience with Oracle EPBCS financial software

  • Organizational knowledge and the ability to integrate critical information from several diverse areas

  • Strong organizational development and management skills

  • Experience in most aspects of financial operations is required, along with proven influence and strategic thinking capabilities

  • Experience in development and implementation of data analytics, procedures, and supporting tools for portfolio, program and project management

  • Demonstrated success leading through change and influencing across the organization

  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with partners in technology, product management and finance

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint presentations

  • Experience in Tableau or other visualizations PPM (Clarity) tool.

  • PMP Certification

  • Lean Six Sigma certification and/or experience

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Projection cycle preparation – Establish transparent and standardized planning cycle and execution timelines with transparency on interdependencies; Engage and coordinate with various planning “interdependent” process owners across various areas to ensure accuracy and alignment of planning process requirements, execution, and timelines; Integration and influencing of EPBCS planning platform enhancement release schedule to align with enterprise projection cadences

  • Projection cycle execution – Ensure planning community understands process being executed (inclusive of any changes being implemented), the roles of all teams/stakeholders in execution of the process, and impact of processes on stakeholder teams/processes

  • Projection cycle communications - Prepare materials and facilitation of tactical planning execution stakeholder meetings, weekly BFO planner touch-points, bi-weekly SLT planning touch-points

  • Process Change Management - Gather feedback on individual process changes, and ensure consideration and incorporation (if approved) into planning execution timelines & requirements, inclusive of enterprise CI or other efforts impacting annual planning processes

  • Coordinate and align with workforce planning team on workforce strategy, Workday/Adaptive platform, and other workforce process change and associated impacts to enterprise planning cadences

  • Support execution of end-to-end planning process documentation issue remediation and annual planning process SOP revision and attestations

  • With continuous improvement mindset, identify opportunities to increase capacity across the business unit areas and corporate services

  • Enhance processes and procedures over time to reflect improvements in program management governance

  • Develop capabilities to reflect evolving needs of senior management to inform decisions

Potential Salary: $180,000.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
