Middleware Engineer

Supports the construction and deployment of new networks and provides technical leadership and guidance on network components.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Working with equipment vendors to develop and implement new solutions.

  • Monitoring and addressing adherence to architectural principles, engineering methodologies and regulatory requirements.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving network problems across a range of technologies.

  • Conducting site surveys and audits to verify that network sites are built in accordance with specifications.

GIA IAD team is seeking a Middleware Engineer with in depth understanding of Linux OS, Networking protocols, SSO, SSL, Web Server/App Server/Caching products, Fatwire, Firewalls, CI/CD and Cloud platforms. Knowledge of Ansible, Puppet & Terraform will be helpful. This candidate is expected to be vigilant in their effort to identify and act on opportunities for efficiencies through automation. Applicant will require to ensure that all SLAs are met for production middleware services support and also handle P1/P2 calls during major incidents.

Major Responsibilities:-

  • Configure, deploy & support Middleware products for container management, security, deployment, web servers, app servers, caching, single sign on and monitoring.

  • Write automation code (Ansible) as required supporting self-services for infrastructure and development teams, and help craft the direction and architecture of our systems

  • Develop and maintain system deployment automation processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications

  • Support and facilitate incident and problem management as required

  • Identify repeatable issues and design solutions to mitigate resolve any issues while running in production

  • Plan, install and test new software releases, server automation, system upgrades, and resolve software related problems for both development and production enterprise systems

  • Support multiple projects by troubleshooting application issues and assisting developers on infrastructure related issues

  • Create, update, and maintain documentation for procedures & policies as defined

  • Proactively detect problems related to Infrastructure services, operations and delivery services, conduct diagnostics, and provide service

  • Collaborate and assist other infrastructure teams and development staff with application analysis, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting

  • Perform change management, configuration, design, and implementation of supported products and systems

  • Provide hands-on service and infrastructure operations support to internal and external customers in accordance with the terms of the established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Assess and evaluate opportunities to enhance productivity and reduce cost

  • Drive adoption of our services across infrastructure and development teams. Establish feedback loop ensuring consumption aligns with stated objectives.
