Founded in 1994, Symphony Asset Management is a diversified investment manager headquartered in San Francisco, California. Symphony Asset Management applies a team-based, event-focused approach to rigorous fundamental research, valuation and risk analysis across the corporate capital structure, identifying and translating relative value into desired risk/reward outcomes for our clients.   • Research and provide investment recommendations in the biotechnology and pharmaceuticals sectors across all asset classes, including convertibles, bank loans, high yield, and equities, both on the long and short side.

  • Render fundamental analysis and forecasting of companies within coverage universe

  • Identify and price investment risk ahead of catalysts

  • Actively dialogue and develop relationships with both the sell-side and buy-side analysts

  • Work as a generalist for convertibles portfolio manager and trader


  • 2-5 years of experience as a biotechnology/pharmaceuticals research analyst or investment banking analysts at a major investment bank

  • Some leveraged credit or convertible bond experience highly preferred

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Strong communication and writing skills; ability to explain complex situations, companies, products clearly and succinctly

  • Self-starter who is detail-oriented and can multi-task effectively

  • Good interpersonal skills who values teamwork and can get along well with others
