TIAA CW Technical Lead in Trenton, New Jersey

This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role is located onsite at our TIAA office in Charlotte, NC, USA but will currently be remote.

The anticipated term of this engagement will be 10 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

CW-IT Applications Developer II

Develops, implements and assesses specific new and emerging technologies, platforms, and services.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assessing the technical viability of emerging products and technologies.

  • Working with developers and infrastructure specialists to test and evaluate new technologies.

  • Participating in the development of business cases and obtaining approvals for capital expenditures.

  • Monitoring and analyzing new technology product performance and resolving issues regarding potential improvements or modifications to complex situations, as needed.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Technical Lead

The Tech Lead will provide technical leadership in the end to end design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services. Responsible for meeting development schedules and delivering high quality solutions that meet technical specifications and design requirements. Lead the specification and software design phases of the software development life cycle. May manage the design and implementation of new software development and enhancement efforts and software testing with other technologists.

Required Skills:

  • 5 or more years of Java experience

  • 4 or more years of Spring Framework (SpringMVC, Spring Security, Spring Boot and Spring Batch, etc.) experience

  • 4 or more years of REST and SOAP service development experience

  • 1 or more years of Distributed source control systems such as Git

  • 1 or more years of Gradle or similar build automation tools experience

  • 1 or more years of jUnit and mocking frameworks experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with JSON, XML, XSL, XSLT, XSD, JAXB

  • Enterprise development experience with Automated Builds, Deployment, Testing.

  • 1+ years in tech lead role leading teams of at least 3 people

  • Experience giving product demonstrations to business partners as part of agile reviews

  • Experience and comfort level presenting technical designs and product roadmaps to IT and business stakeholders

  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining large scale distributed systems

Travel Required:

Potential Salary: $103.48 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
