Loss Mitigation Relationship Manager

The Loss Mitigation Relationship Manager oversees and implements loss mitigation policies to reduce potential loan losses. This job performs loan modifications based on individual loan circumstances. While working under close supervision, this job re-underwrites loans based on borrower financials, loan attributes, and pricing.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Performs review of loss mitigation mortgage loan files ensuring accuracy of information and verify presence of all required documents including credit, title, appraisals, credit documents, property valuation, loan-to-value ratios, debt carried, and analysis of hardships.

  • Reviews servicer comments for different stages of performance and various documentation forms to determine various aspects of the current borrower performance for the areas of Default, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Collections.

  • Analyzes and reviews complete records of the borrower's payment history / cash flow, including but not limited to; monthly breakout of Principal, Interest, Escrows, and other for monthly cash received.

  • Identifies issues related to repayment ability, reperformance, property condition, current legal status, title issues, property condition, vacancy and related.

  • Stays up-to-date on all agency, state and federal guidelines, and participates in on-going training as the industry evolves.

  • Analyzes and captures data including cash received and end of month due dates for payment histories.

This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA’s family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role can be located on our TIAA office in Parsippany , NJ will be currently remote.

Primary characteristics

Assist in timely preparation and posting of daily cash postings, account reconciliations, accounting research and variance analysis for assigned division.

Essential functions

  • Assist with daily cash posting ACH\Wire

  • Assist with clearing Suspense

  • Prepare and post journal entries for daily and month end close activities

  • Monitor, maintain and reconcile Suspense general ledger accounts; clear oustanding items as required

  • Assist with special projects

  • Processing refunds and manual vouchers

  • Cross train on various accounting functions within the department

  • Research outstanding unidentied checks/ACH/Wires

Training and experience

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Accounting, finance or business related degree preferred

  • Banking and / or mortgage industry experience preferred

Travel Required:Potential Salary: $25.10 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
