TIAA Manager, Actuary in United States

A product actuary is sought to provide all actuarial aspects of design, pricing and development of new and in-force retirement annuity products. The actuary will recommend product prices and features, support implementation of product changes, monitor the performance of those products, and provide support to various business areas. The actuary will have primary focus on pricing of new and existing products using actuarial modeling techniques.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide actuarial aspects of design, pricing and development of new and in-force retirement products for TIAA annuity products.

  • Primary owner of TIAA annuity pricing models in MG-ALFA.

  • Monitor product performance, report key actionable information, and identify and resolve issues in partnership with product managers.

  • Provide actuarial pricing support for individual retail annuity products.

  • Serve as actuarial annuity product subject matter expert in collaboration with key business partners in various business areas such as product management, asset management, risk management, actuarial services, operations, finance, marketing, sales, IT, and others.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of actuarial experience

  • Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of actuarial experience

  • Actuarial modeling experience using MG-ALFA

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or on a path to attain within 12 months

  • Experience working with annuities used within defined contribution plans

  • Experience in product pricing and development

  • Theoretical and logical analytical skills for decision making

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills

Potential Salary: $148,800.00 USD

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
