Nuveen Investments MD, US Row Crops - Southeast in United States

US Row Crops

Maintain an integrated Asset / Investment Management platform in the US across a number of regions and row-crop types within agriculture. Propose and, if approved, implement the row-crop investment strategy and asset allocation for each investment fund in the US. This includes all new business and product development.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsibility for US row-crop staff compensation recommendations, both short-term and long-term.

  • Co-ordination of operational and reporting systems in conjunction with the CFO and the responsible Regional Manager.

  • Responsible for the implementation of the various row-crop investment strategies, in a manner that is compliant with overall policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements of the business.

  • Review, develop, recommend and, if approved, implement the “investment strategy” of the row-crop portfolios in a manner that is compliant with the investors disclosure documentation.

  • Lead a team of agricultural row-crop specialists who will be responsible for analyzing, recommending and advising on the acquisition and management of US agricultural real estate investments, and overseeing these investments in accordance with the longer term objectives.

  • Accountable for acquisition targets and ongoing portfolio performance targets.

  • Supervises and/or coordinates all row-crop investment proposals for discussion and approval purposes.

  • Assessment of the risk-return profile of the various US row-crop portfolios which are a part of a global agricultural investment portfolio.

  • Oversee the divestment planning and exit strategy of each row-crop investment within the portfolio.

  • Formalized annual review of the properties and the budgets associated with each US row-crop property.

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years’ experience in agricultural property management

Desired Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in agricultural property management

  • Experience in agricultural property acquisitions and sales (or a related field)

  • Experience with producing or managing various regional or geographic crop types

  • Knowledge and understanding of finance and accounting methods, theories and formulas

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Business, Economics, Agribusiness, Farm Management, Property Valuation, and/or Management

  • Agricultural property or real estate experience

Base Pay Range: $146,300/yr. - $243,800/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).Â
