Role
The Vice President on the International Product team will develop, structure, and launch public market investment products for Nuveen’s international business. In addition, the Vice President will assess and maintain the competiveness of established products from an investment and business performance perspective. The Vice President will achieve results through idea generation and collaboration with senior investment management, asset class product managers, sales, legal, marketing, operations, and finance personnel.
Responsibilities:
Leads structuring of products or accounts, working closely with portfolio management, asset class product managers, legal, accounting, and client servicing teams.
Develops new public markets investment products on the basis of market demand, competition, internal capabilities, profitability, and strategic direction of the firm; conducts feasibility analysis with key stakeholders; establishes product strategy and defines appropriate benchmark(s); manages internal governance /approval process. Public market strategies and fund structures may be part of the role as needed to support growth initiatives.
Drives development, launch, and integration of off-shore products and services through coordinating cross-functional teams and project management.
Oversees the product pipeline and serves as the primary business contact for all public products
Creates product plans across traditional investment strategies that evaluate and refine assigned products, investment vehicles, and their distribution, based on financial, internal capabilities, market, and operational considerations; plans will include implementation, marketing and sales components; recommendations may include closure, merger and/or restructuring of existing products.
Serves as subject matter expert, providing guidance and detailed product information to marketing, sales, and clients for due diligence questions, client servicing, offering memoranda, and other purposes.
Manages vendor support and procedures for assigned products.
Ensures products are compliant with regulatory requirements, specifically around AIFMD, MiFID II, and SFDR
Qualifications:
Required
BA, specializing in finance, investments, law or engineering required.
10+ years of direct experience in asset management, preferably working in investment related functions.
5 + years of direct experience with structuring and launching alternative products, preferably private strategies
Experience with product structures (UCITS) domiciled in EU and other off-shore locations
Strong knowledge of non-traditional asset classes including real estate, infrastructure, private equity and private credit
Strong client presentation and analytical skills.
Structuring experience with investment management, either from sell-side/buy-side firm or a reputed law firm.
Cultural fit and desire to work in a team environment
Relevant level 4 FCA recognised qualification essential e.g. IMC, CFA level 1 or CIIA
Preferred
Master/PhD in finance, investments, law or engineering preferred.
Track record of innovation
Must be self-directed with ability to escalate as needed
Strong written and verbal communication skills
This role requires you to have certified staff regulatory status as per the FCA guidelines.
Base Pay Range: $128,900/yr. - $214,800/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
